We are so grateful to the Community Foundation of We are so grateful to the Community Foundation of Northeast Florida for their generous grant supporting our Essential Angels Program in Duval County!

Through Essential Angels, we provide custom care packages filled with clothing, shoes, hygiene products, and more to Pre-K - 12th grade who are experiencing homelessness or persistent poverty.

Every day, counselors, case managers and social workers through DCPS and other local social service agencies, work with families to submit referrals through our online portal for those in need. This allows us to meet students right where they are—discreetly delivering essentials that restore dignity, reduce barriers, and help youth show up ready to learn.

Thank you, Community Foundation of Northeast Florida, for believing in our mission and helping us clothe and care for our most vulnerable youth. Together, we are making sure every student has the confidence they deserve in and out of the classroom.

For Our Duval & Palm Beach County Public School Co For Our Duval & Palm Beach County Public School Communities 💙

The Giving Closet Project has a long-standing commitment to Jacksonville students and DCPS. Just last year, we provided over $200,000 worth of uniforms to ensure students could walk into school with dignity and confidence.

Despite the current landscape of our economy, our mission hasn’t changed and we remain optimistic — we’re still here providing uniforms, clothing, shoes, hygiene items, and more for students and families across our community and beyond.

Whether you need resources, or in a position to help us restock our shelves, know that we are here for you — and with your support, we can continue making sure every student is ready to succeed.

What an amazing day with Florida’s FIRST Genesys What an amazing day with Florida’s FIRST Genesys Works cohort of students from Duval County Public Schools. Today, our team had the opportunity to work closely with this dynamic group of students!

They volunteered their time filling care packages, organized & restocked our Children’s Boutique, had an amazing shopping experience of their own in our Teen & Career Wear Boutique, and participated in a “Own Your Experience: Turning Opportunity Into Impact” Lunch & Learn.

We cannot wait to see what this cohort accomplishes this year. The future is bright for these students, and Team GCP looks forward to being a part of this journey with Genesys Works Jax!

👕📚 Clean uniforms, shoes that fit, and fresh 👕📚 Clean uniforms, shoes that fit, and fresh socks — they may seem like small things, but for many students, they’re the difference between attending school or staying home.
When youth and teens have what they need to feel comfortable and confident, they’re more likely to show up, stay focused, and thrive in the classroom.
📌 Most Title I schools in Duval and Palm Beach Counties require school uniforms. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, there are 75 Title I–eligible schools in Duval County alone. These schools serve a high percentage of students from low-income families and receive federal funding to support academic achievement — but the need for basic essentials like uniforms still remains.
🚨 Chronic absenteeism continues to be a major barrier to student success in both counties. Nearly 39% of students in Palm Beach County and 33% in Duval County miss 11 or more days of school — an alarming rate that qualifies as chronic absenteeism under state guidelines (Public News Service, 2024).
Right now, The Giving Closet Project is in urgent need of school uniforms to help students start the year strong. We’re especially short on youth sizes and essential items like polos, khaki bottoms, socks, and underwear.
You can help us remove a simple — yet critical — barrier to education. 📦🧺
🛒 You can help by donating directly through our Amazon Wishlist:

Every item donated removes a barrier to education and gives a student the chance to walk into school feeling prepared, proud, and supported. 💙
